Together we can help end women's homelessness
One in three people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles are women. Help me raise funds for the Downtown Women's Center this month as they continue getting women out of homelessness amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
I am so lucky to have first learned about DWC when I was at Occidental College. My sorority, Delta Omicron Tau, volunteered at the site on Los Angeles Street. In 2015, I had the opportunity to participate as a board intern. I later joined the Leadership Council and I am now on the Board. My passion for being part of DWC is that women experiencing homelessness have specific needs that are often overlooked or undervalued. Rather than reducing services during a global pandemic DWC has found a way to increase and enhance services providing meals, testing, workforce opportunities, emergency housing and connections to other vital resources. Please join me and the ladies of DOT!
The Downtown Women’s Center (DWC)is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women. DWC envisions a Los Angeles with every woman housed and on a path to personal stability. Founded in 1978, DWC was the first permanent supportive housing provider for women in the U.S.
