I got involved with New Moms shortly after my first child turned one. In what was somehow the longest and shortest year of my life, I often felt lost, overwhelmed, scared, defeated, and tired (always tired). This is despite having every advantage one could hope for. My wife and I have supportive families, live in a safe neighborhood, have access to great health care, and have stable jobs. Did I mention supportive families? Seriously, all four of our parents live near by and are practically begging to help.

Over that first year, I often wondered how it could be possible raise a child without the help and support system that we are so lucky to have. I decided I wanted to try and help provide that support sytem to others who need a bit more help. It was this decisuon that lead me to New Moms. 

New Moms exists to interrupt the cycle of poverty and create strong families. Their mission is to share the love of God by surrounding young moms and their children with everything they need to transform their lives, specifically focusing on housing, jobs, and family services.
