At New Moms, young moms 24 and under take powerful first steps toward econonmic mobility and family well-being.  Inequality and injustice inflicted against Black and Brown people, bias against adolescent moms, and disinvestment in communities of color are harmful to young families.  Although  97% of the young families that come to New Moms are experiencing poverty, all of them seek a future of shared prosperity with their children.
 

I joined as board member 2+ years ago because New Moms' mission aligns with my passion and core values of providing equity and opportunity for all families to thrive.  Since 1983, New Moms has expanded to support young families throughout Chicagoland with its programs (housing, job training and family support).  New Moms' approach has yielded extraordinary results, but as the events of this current year have proven, the impact to our most vulnerable populations cuts deeper.  Join me in supporting this crucial mission to empower a family's life by giving of yours.
