its an honor and pleasure to be helping raise funds for Transformative Change (XC).
and a sweet opportunity to share with you, my dear friends, family and family friends, how meaningful the work supported by this organization is to my life, to my thriving, and ultimately to how I show up the world.
you may not have heard much from me in the past few years, as I’ve been leaning less on verbalizing (yes, me ;) and heeding more to actively being in practices that allow me to touch into what matters, the patterns I’m working with, and what’s true and what’s not true for me. practices that return me to myself, again and again, cultivating a bit more space for me to get to know a bit more who I am.
I haven’t quite known how to put any of this renewing relationship with myself into words and just chose to let that be okay. and now, with this invitation to share, in support of this peer-to-peer campaign for XC, I’m doing my best to begin.
here’s a start:
as I touched on in my video ⤴️, a major false binary I’ve been habitually allowing to steer my life, is a misconception that my own needs are in opposition to the needs of others. operating from this, my deep care for others and the world has been in conflict with caring for myself. time and time again, I’ve neglected myself, confusing the martyrdom of tending to others’ needs at all costs with somehow a means to fulfilling my own. here I’ve been, impassioned about contributing to the thriving of the world, but continually counting myself out of it. which has fostered an unhealthy and antithetical dependance on others to “need” so that I could prove my caring, my loving, my being worthy to belong after all. in all this effortting to not make it about me, turns out that quite passively I was doing just that..
I worked on this modus operandi in myself for years, but my focus was on mind-set. I was trying to change by trying to change my mind. change my self-concept. but these habituations are beyond ideas and concepts, they’re impulses that live in the body. my ol’ leave myself-to love them-to be loved mechanism can kick right into gear in any given moment, no matter what awarenesses I think I’ve attained.
the work I’ve now been doing since 2020, supported by spaces and programs facilitated by XC, is praxis based. where theory meets practice; where intention meets action. the actions are embodied, via practices anchored in returning attention-awareness on the breath as it abides in the body core. over and over again with this returning, I’m cultivating a relationship with myself; a capacity for sensing into the quality of what is alive for me, or of what is operating as an obstacle to it. sometimes it’s a truth, sometimes it’s story, often it’s an ol’ habituation. and more and more it’s a clarity of what matters for me.
what I’m honing is an ability to be with what ever it is, as it is, as I am in this moment. I’m sensing into what is mine and what is not, and whatever it is–taking responsibility for my actions or inactions in response to it.
through practice, the grip of trying to find refuge in someone else’s head and heart is giving way as I’m actively returning home in my own body and meeting myself here, as I am. I’m more able to recognize the impact my choices and actions have on my relationships, my wellbeing, and the world as I move with it. I’m getting to know my unique perspectives and needs, learning how to ask for and receive support, and showing up with others with an honest sense, or knowing-of my own-belonging.
it’s a practice. whatever life brings or wherever I may verve off too, I’m grateful that I can choose to return home to myself and center in what matters, again and again.
and the total kicker is –the special sauce that fires up my simmer– is that I get to practice along side a whole collective of other folks who are also in their practice, showing up for their own lives and impacts. it’s kind of amazing how super different we all are in all the ways, and we champion how essential that is. the tenant of “come as you are” welcomes everyone to show up as we are, with whatever we’re practicing with today. and so we do, and when we do, together we create the space for ourselves and each other. it’s really quite remarkable. showing up for myself helps create the space for others to show up for themselves ⚡️⚡️⚡️
immense appreciation for you giving the time to read and receive what I’m sharing.
if you are able and willing to support me in supporting Transformative Change (XC) with a gift of any amount, big or small, that’s amazing - thank you. if not, not a worry or expectation at all, and thank you for the golden gift of your energy and attention. your presence in my life means the world to me.
feel free to reach out any time and let's catch up! I truly welcome connecting anytime and would love to hear about what’s alive for you too these days.

Transformative Change
Building a Future of Connection & Collaboration
Transformative Change (XC) fuels and is fueled by the power of connection and collective. XC is not about fighting for a cause or simply delivering programs. XC connects people across false divides while uplifting and revering every body’s unique locations of difference. Invited to come as we are, we work with our personal roadmaps and how our choices impact how we relate with our lives and with the world, each in our own way.
