What if I don't have a team of five? / Do I need to be part of a team?

If you have a team of five, great! You can register yourself and all the members of your team under one team name.

If you have fewer than five members on your team, that's perfectly fine! You can register yourself and all the members of your team under one team name and a Free Agent may be assigned to your team.

If you would like to register as a Free Agent, no problem! We will place you with another team.

 

Does everyone on my team have to register?
Everyone on your team must be registered. You can register yourself and everyone on your team at once to take advantage of the group discount; you will just need all their email addresses and a team name, so we can group you together for the event.

 

What's the pricing?

• Early Bird Pricing (purchased prior to Sunday, April 25 11:59 pm):
  • $50 for a 5 Person Team
  • $15 for a Free Agent
• Week-of Pricing (purchase after Sunday, April 25 11:59 pm)
  • $75 for a 5 Person Team
  • $25 for a Free Agent

What's the final date to register myself / my team?

The final date to register is April 28.

 

Are there prizes?

There will be a TBD prize for the winning team! The City Year Washington, DC Alumni Association cannot ensure that any prizes can be shipped or available/applicable to those residing outside the DC metro area.

 

Can I pay for someone else's registration?

Absolutely! You can register another person if you have their email address.

 

Can I join by phone?

You can join with any system that can utilize Zoom, though we recommend you join by desktop computer or large tablet.

 

What is this event? / Is this the same as the Soirée?

This event serves as the signature annual event sponsored by the City Year Washington, DC Alumni Association, where City Year alumni, staff, friends, and family celebrate together and raise money for the site. In past years, it was an in-person event called the Annual Soirée. The City Year Washington, DC Alumni Association will consider in-person events when it is safe to do so in the future.

 

What is the Silent Auction?

The Silent Auction is another online fundraiser sponsored by the City Year Washington, DC Alumni Association for 2021. Check out the tons of great packages we have up for grabs! Link to the Silent Auction items is in the header. You do not need to register for the Silent Auction, but you will need to register for a QGiv account to bid on auction items. The Silent Auction is open for bids April 19 through April 30.

 

What is the City Year Washington, DC Alumni Association?

The City Year Washington, DC Alumni Association is a volunteer- and alumni-led board. We organize events and initiatives to keep City Year alumni (30,000 strong!) connected to each other and the corps. The Washington DC chapter is a group of professionals of all backgrounds, who have previously served one or two years of service as City Year AmeriCorps members. Can current City Year AmeriCorps Members join this event?

Senior AmeriCorps Members are highly encouraged to join! First year AmeriCorps Members unfortunately will have to wait until after their service year ends to join next year's event.
