I came to the Truck Safety Coalition with a long history of disaster relief and nonprofit leadership in July, 2021. I was new to the world of truck safety and was quickly blown away by how little meaningful commonsense regulations and enforcement exist in the world of large trucks. It’s unlike any other industry in the country and the consequences are heart-wrenching, devastating and unacceptable to anyone willing to pay attention. If we want to think of ourselves as our brother’s keeper, we need to start listening to the cries for action from truck crash victims and survivors.
