Crash Story: On December 23, 2004, Dawn King’s father, Bill Badger, was killed in a devastating truck crash. While driving to the Atlanta airport to spend Christmas in the north with his family, Bill’s car was struck by a semi-truck whose driver had fallen asleep at the wheel. Bill had been navigating slowed traffic caused by an earlier accident when the semi sped through a construction zone and hit Bill’s vehicle, killing him instantly. This tragedy came just months after the sudden passing of his wife of over 50 years, leaving the Badger family to face a heartbreaking holiday without either parent.
Relationship/Involvement with TSC: Inspired to ensure no other family experiences such a devastating loss, Dawn has become a cornerstone of the Truck Safety Coalition. As a board member of CRASH and a past President of TSC, she dedicates countless hours to advocating for safer roads. Dawn is also a committed donor and volunteer, working tirelessly to support victims and advance truck safety initiatives.
Why Supporting TSC Matters: "Every step we take toward improving truck safety honors my father’s memory and helps prevent others from enduring the same pain my family faced. Supporting the Truck Safety Coalition means saving lives and ensuring families make it home safely." - Dawn King

Dawn, based on what I know of you and how much we have in common, I always think about how I probably would've liked your dad.
