On June 17th, I will be participating in Grandma's Marathon on behalf of Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota.  I have made the commitment to not only run but to raise $5,000 that will benefit the heart program at Children’s.  The same program that has been so instrumental for Mary Kate, my cousin Paul's daughter.        

When I heard Paul was putting together a team to support Children’s of MN, I was immediately motivated, not only as a personal challenge but to support such a tremendous resource that we have in Minnesota.  Better yet, I have the opportunity to do so alongside my dear friend Amanda Cook, family and colleagues that will also be participating in the half as well as the full marathon.

I did start out planning to run the half marathon but at training week 18 decided to 'up the ante' and am now registered for the full marathon.      

Although I have reached my $5,000 goal because of so many supportive and generous friends and family, I think I have to 'up the ante' again.  Any amount of contribution would be greatly appreciated to help us achieve this increased goal.
