DAY OF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Turkey Trot 5k needs over 50 volunteers to do the important tasks to keep our participants safe and encouraged.  This race runs rain or shine!  Volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent and all volunteers receive a complimentary Seniors First Turkey Trot t-shirt.  Here is a brief description and time frame of the Turkey Trot 5k Volunteer tasks.  *Note: We will do our best to accomodate job preferences but reserve the right to assign volunteers as needed.

SET UP:  10 Volunteers Needed

  • Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2015  6:30-8:30am
  • You will assist in hanging logo banners and setting up food/holiday gift drive collection area.  This position will require standing and reaching.

T-SHIRT SALES and DONATIONS: 5 Volunteers Needed

  • Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2015 6:30-9:30
  • You will man a table to sell past year's t-shirts.  This job can be done sitting down.  This station will also be responsible for collecting money donated during the event.  You must be a Seniors First registered volunteer with a completed background check to be recommended for this job.

REGISTRATION: 15 Volunteers Needed

  • Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2015 6:30-9:00am
  • You will assist in helping to register athletes or volunteers prior to the race starting.  Duties can include: passing out packets and t-shirts or race bibs.  You will also help parents register their children for the Tot Trot.  This job can be done sitting or standing.  Outgoing, personable people enjoy this placement as you are in contact with every participant.

FINISH LINE: 20 Volunteers Needed

  • Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2015 6:30-9:00am
  • Finish line duties can include passing out water bottles or helping with the Tot Trot by giving ribbons to the finishers.
  • Some Finish Line volunteers can help with set up and break down of finish line.  This includes scaffolding, sport fence, banner placement, etc.  Dress appropriately for the weather.  Standing reaching and loading will be required.
