Within Polk County, 3,738 children have been identified as homeless by the HEARTH Public School department. 2,951 students in our county receive meal assistance through KidsPACK so they don’t have to attend school hungry. Our Clothes Closet at Tenoroc High School has provided hygiene products and clothing essentials to over 200 kids so they can attend class comfortably.
By attending Black Diamond Ball and supporting the Junior League of Greater Lakeland you will help us continue to partner with Tenoroc High School, Dixieland Elementary, Oscar J. Pope Elementary, and many others to respond to urgent needs facing children right here in Polk County.
This year our goal is to raise funds to fill 500 backpacks with school supplies, toiletries, and non-perishable food items for children facing food insecurity. Your support will help us meet this goal and make a difference in the lives of our city's most vulnerable!
You can join the fun at the Black Diamond Ball by downloading the Givi app. This will allow you to bid on silent auction items, purchase bourbon tastings, and participate in games of chance like Black Jack and Roulette. Don’t miss out! Everyone who registers for Black Diamond Ball will receive an email or text containing a link to download the Givi app. If you are attending as part of a larger group, you may not receive an email from us with a link to download Givi. Fear not! You can easily download the app in your designated app store.
Head to our FAQ page for more information on downloading and using Givi.
