The reason I chose to be a College Mentor for Kids is that I know exactly how it feels to need guidance and support when you’re unsure of your path. Growing up, I had mentors who truly cared about me and took the time to help me grow not just academically, but personally. They showed me what real leadership and encouragement look like. Without their guidance, I honestly don’t know where I would be right now. Their belief in me helped me build confidence, make better choices, and start to believe in my own potential.

That experience is what inspired me to give back through College Mentors. I know how powerful it is to have someone who listens, motivates, and reminds you that you are capable of great things. Being that person for my little buddy means everything to me. I want to help them see their strengths, encourage them to dream big, and let them know that even when life gets hard, they’re not alone.

Through this program, I’ve realized that mentorship isn’t just about giving advice, it’s about building a bond, showing up consistently, and creating moments that inspire growth and confidence. Every time I see my little buddy smile, try something new, or feel proud of themselves, it reminds me why I joined this program in the first place. My goal is to continue making a positive impact on their life, just like my mentors did for me.
