Vero Beach Rowing’s mission is to “To promote and teach the sport of rowing to the community in order to develop physical fitness, personal character, and an ethic of cooperation through competitive and recreational opportunities.” This mission begins with our commitment to growing our youth programs. Our club provides the opportunity for youth from any school to participate in our programs. Our High School Program draws athletes from all area high schools. The team competes at regattas across the state, region, and nationally. Both fall and spring Seasons are offered, with start and end dates matching the academic calendar.

Junior program dues do not cover the full cost of our programs, and do not fund equipment purchases. With our new Community Boathouse almost complete, we intend to grow our team even more to leverage our new capacity. To do this, we need to raise money to expand and update our fleet to accommodate the expected growth. Our goal this fall is to raise over $20,000 through our Erg-A-Thon, an event that will test and strengthen our athletes physical fitness, personal character, and ethics of cooperation. Starting at 10:00 am on November 16 at our new Community Boathouse, teams of 3 will each keep one rowing machine spinning for 42,195 meters - a full marathon 26.2 mile distance!

Although the first $20,000 has a specific purpose of helping to fund the Youth programs, any additional funds will be put towards equipment etc. that will benefit not just the Youth programs but all of the club members (myself included) .Each of our club's athletes has been challenged to raise at least $600 to meet our goal. As a supporter, your donation assures that our community has access to all of the rowing amenities that our programs and events offer.
