Our back stage is bare! If you look at our photos or have been to shows/performances, you can see this is the best we can currently do. We want to be able to build shows that have a video component which serves as a valuable tool for helping students learn how to create shows with the video backdrops. We’d be able to utilize this on and off campus.
The video backdrop will be used for commercial band live performances, for filming commercial bands and to enhance live sound teaching lab in Chryst Hall. This would give the visual element that larger productions and even stadium shows would have. It would allow us to deepen our connections with other departments like Entertainment Technology and Media Arts to be able to build shows that are on a professional level. In addition it would allow us to prepare students to work in industries that have the design connection with entertainment. For students, this technology/equipment would offer an amazing hands-on learning experience.
