I am pledging to go voiceless on November 6, 2021 for a 24-hour vow of silence in solidarity with the animals who are silenced by industries and our legal and political systems. From now till November 6th, I and other participants will raise funds to support Animal Justice's mission to transform our legal and political systems, and give animals the legal protection they desperately need.

Animal Justice is Canada's only national animal law advocacy organization. They lead the legal, political, and educational mission to transform Canada into a better place for animals and to protect them from cruelty and neglect.

As a law school applicant and aspiring animal rights lawyer, Animal Justice is very inspirational and important to me. Over the last year, volunteering for Animal Justice and working for their Animal Justice Academy as Creative Coordinator, I have seen so much incredible work being done by the Animal Justice team in courtrooms, through media outlets, in political corridors, and in public conversation. They are such a vital, important and worthy cause to support.

Many Canadians are shocked to find out that we have some of the worst animal protection laws in the western world. In Canada, there are no federal regulations protecting animals from abuse in factory farms, laboratories, zoos and aquariums, and puppy mills. In this country, it’s even legal to kill and eat your pets!

And to make things worse, governments across the country have passed “ag gag” laws to try and stop animal advocates from exposing the inherent cruelty of the animal ag industry to the public... including outlawing undercover investigations. 

Whether it's a chicken in the egg industry caged and barely able to move for her entire life, a walrus suffering abuse in an aquarium, a fox trapped for life alone in a wire cage on a fur farm, or a rabbit being tortured in a cosmetic testing lab, Animal Justice is working tirelessly to end the suffering of all animals.
