It's About Time Foundation fundraiser

WatchSchoolPoster.jpgOdessa, Delaware, is home the Veterans Watchmaker Initiative, a unique school that trains disabled American military veterans to become watchmakers. After nearly three years of success in a former EMT station converted into a world-class but small watchmaking school, the It’s About Time Foundation is working to build a visionary school that will train, house and feed up to 40 veterans from across the nation as professional watchmakers and jewelry repair specialists.

School founder Sam Cannan is a Swiss-trained master watchmaker who teaches, manages, and runs the school pro bono. His philosophy is that tuition, room, and board have been and will continue to be waived in recognition for his students’ faithful service to our nation.

The idea is based on the post-WWII outreach of the Bulova Watch Company in Switzerland borne of gratitude for the sacrifices of injured American veterans. They taught them a skill that allowed veterans to support themselves and their families despite their injuries. Some worked into their 90s.

You can help by grabbing a ticket for this premiere fundraising event featuring Grace Field, an award-winning Broadway vocalist for this planned school. There are limited in-person tickets available (with Covid spacing), and online concert attendance for this special event.

Signing up for either will also allow bidding on several special gifts to be posted.
