Laura's Walk & Wag page

I'm fundraising for Walk and Wag again this year, and all proceeds to the Humane Society of Huron Valley! Here are just a few things that they do:

  • Take care of up to 500 animals at a time (it's almost kitten season - they'll be hitting that number in a few months!)
  • Give any necessary medical care to shelter animals, whether it's in-house with their own vet team or funding an animal's surgery with an outside specialist
  • Their AMAZING behavior team works with each dog and cat individually to give them the training and socialization they need
  • Help seniors in the community with pet care and access to veterinary care so that they can keep their pets, and not have to surrender them to the shelter
  • Provide educational programs for at-risk youth in Washtenaw County
  • Provide pop-up vaccine clinics in easily accessible areas of the community, so that people facing transportation issues have a better chance of giving their pets the preventative care they need

This is a really special shelter which is doing so much for both animals AND people, and I've been lucky to work there for over 7 years (and to have adopted Melody and Chopin from here). Any little bit helps!
