I am participating in the Walk to End Hunger this year to make November, No Hunger November.
Please consider supporting my efforts to help the 1 in 9 Minnesotans who don't know where their next meal is coming from.
The Food Group has been working around the clock to provide hunger relief in Minnesota and western Wisconsin as the economic impact of the pandemic is felt by local families. The need continues at alarmingly high rates.
The ripple effects of the pandemic are impacting our BIPOC community disproportionately as well as seniors and kids with increased barriers to food access. In 2020 we added more than 40 new partnerships to distribute food. These new community and BIPOC-led (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) partnerships emerged to reach individuals who have historically been left out of the traditional hunger relief system.
Today, one in nine Minnesotans is experiencing hunger. That means more than 625,000 children, teens, adults and seniors do not know where their next meal is coming from and their long-range outlook for meeting their daily nutrition needs is uncertain.
Help me ensure more Minnesotans will get the nutritious, culturally connected food they need to keep themselves and their families healthy.
