As an animal lover and advocate with four fur babies at home—three dogs and a cat—I know firsthand the importance of caring for animals in need. My journey began with Winston, my oldest dog, whom I rescued from a surrender shelter in Muskegon, Michigan, in 2020. This sparked my mission to speak up for animals who cannot speak for themselves. Now, I have an incredible opportunity to make an even bigger impact through the Walk & Wag and Run fundraiser hosted by the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV).
The Walk & Wag and Run event is HSHV’s largest annual fundraiser, taking place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Rolling Hills Park in Ypsilanti, Michigan. This fun-filled day includes a 5K run, a 1-mile walk, and a festival with dog-friendly activities like crafts, contests, raffles, and more. Every dollar raised during this event goes directly toward rescuing and caring for homeless, injured, and abused animals in the community.
HSHV is a no-kill shelter with a remarkable track record of saving lives. They provide lifesaving medical care for injured animals, round-the-clock care for abandoned kittens, and shelter for abused pets until they find loving homes. Their dedication to animal welfare is supported by generous donors and volunteers like you.
