About me!

Hello! It's me, Kirsten, and my running companion is Obi, a four-year-old rescue dog. I am working through a late-in-life diagnosis of ADHD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Depression. We are excited to raise money for the Doug Flutie, Jr. Autism Foundation so that other Neurodivergant individuals receive the support they need.  Our goal this year is to run 4 races in the Dopey Challenge, the 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and Marathon.  That's a total of 48.6 miles!! It would be awesome to raise $100 for every mile!

Follow my Journey

I learned about the Foundation when I was running the Disney Princess Half Marathon earlier this year and knew that those running for it were a wonderful community that I wanted to be part of.  I also have the goal of COMPLETING the 4 Races for my 44th birthday which is the Thursday after race weekend.

Oberon and I are very excited to start our training journey and will be updating you about50332501_2541239982558693_5757538509376192512_n.jpg our adventures right here!  Obi will be going on most of my short runs and some of my long runs. It will really dePXL_20240310_182457852.TS_exported_601.jpgpend on his stamina (and the heat over the summer).

I have two races leading up to Marathon Weekend and I will document them here.  The first one is in April, the Rock the Nock 10k and the second is the Ocean City Running Festival in November!

Help keep me on track and accountable!

Official Training Log:

First real long run on my feet in the form of the Ocean City, MD half marathon.  It was hard!  Now the weather was beautiful between 50 and 60 degrees. Assateague Island was beautiful but I didn't see any ponies so that was disappointing.  Now on to the hard part, the straight shot north on 611 - there was a headwind, so I got some good resistance training in.  I was a little annoyed though, as soon as I turned south at the turnaround on the boardwalk, there was no breeze to push me that last couple of miles.  I think mental game needs some improvement because I was ready to tap out at mile 10 but had plenty of umph to run cross the finish line.  This weekend's long run should help.  We are at 45% of goal as of this writing and I'm hoping to hit 50% soon!

Love and appreciate you all!
