I'm excited to be running the Disney World Half Marathon on behalf of the Doug Flutie Foundaiton for the second time! I love the Flutie Fioundation's commitment to bringing opportunities in fields like athletics and the arts to individuals with autism, as well as their material assistance to families affected by autism.
Our son Sam was diagnosed with autism in 2021. His diagnosis has been a non-stop challenge for him and for our family. Through the difficult days we've faced with Sam, running has become a major source of joy, restoration, and community in my life. (And it's also a great excuse to secretly listen to all my favorite ska bands! Not that I would ever proclaim that on the internet....) It's an honor for me to be able to use running as a way to benefit families and individuals affected by autism. As a family, we have deeply appreciated the way the cast members at Disney World have made Sam feel special when we've visited the park. So it's extra special for me to be able to run there.
I'm originally from north central Ohio and now live in Kansas City. I've been married to my wife Audrey for 13 years, and we have four great kids: Harry (10), Teddy (9), Sam (6), and Charlotte (3). I work as a clinical pharmacist in the PICU at Children's Mercy Hospital. In my free time I enjoy playing music, reading, running, crafting elite dad jokes, and drinking too much coffee.
