Reggie, currently the Executive VP of Operations, joined The Boys & Girls Clubs team in 1998 as Education Director. In this first role, in a much smaller Club, he facilitated club programs and curriculum. Reggie showed an outstanding passion for working with our youth and over the next several years earned promotions to numerous positions including Youth Development Director, Program Director, Director of Operations, and Associate Executive Director.
In all these roles, Reggie always has been second in command working closely with CEO, David Anderson. As the Club expanded into public school buildings in the late 2000s, Reggie took on the launch and operations of 10 school sites. In addition to after school programs, the Club prioritized increasing the number of teens in our programs. Reggie worked with the teen staff to develop attractive enrichment and mission-driven programs. Soon there were hundreds of teens participating in the Club's job readiness program, Career Launch, and going onto college. Reggie has been a key leader. He helped the Club grow to serve just under 1,000 youth per day and employ over 100 staff during this time.
Today the Club remains the leading youth service agency in the community with a focus on reading literacy/education, social-emotional learning, healthy living, and college/career preparation. As our local youth navigate the Covid-19 pandemic, the relevancy of these areas increases. The Club continues to build critical skills, knowledge, and experiences for youth.
The success of our ability to impact the lives of youth depends on the quality of our staff and relationships with the community and Club parents. As our youth continue to face new challenges, Reggie sees the importance of a staff well-equipped with the latest training and technology. He will work to grow our volunteer and donor base, build organizational capacity, strengthen community relationships, and do whatever it takes to build great futures for our youth.
As the incoming President & CEO, Reggie hopes to see you on July 21st and that you will consider a gift to our Ensuring Succes Campaign as we celebrate our 85th Anniversay of inspiring Trenton-area youth.
