About Me

Hi friends! I’m Diana, Charlotte-born and raised (with a few East Coast and Midwest adventures mixed in). I’m what you might call a proud hobby-collector. If it looks fun, I’m probably trying it!

About a year and a half ago, I picked up West Coast Swing dancing and never looked back. Dancing is my therapy — my way to unwind, connect, and meet incredible people. When I’m not dancing, you can find me traveling, playing pickleball, snowboarding whenever I can escape to the mountains, painting just for fun, or talking endlessly about my 16-year-old pup, Tucker. (He’s my spoiled little sidekick,  and he absolutely knows it.)

Why This Matters to Me

Cancer has touched my life in very real ways. Two of my aunts have faced breast cancer; thankfully, both are now in remission. Watching their journeys opened my eyes to just how heavy and overwhelming that road can be, not just for the person diagnosed, but for everyone who loves them.

My mom also passed away from cancer. It wasn’t breast cancer, but cancer is cancer — and the impact is devastating, no matter the diagnosis.

When I learned more about Carolina Breast Friends and walked into The Pink House for the first time, I felt something different. There is a calm, a warmth, and a genuine sense of community inside those walls. It’s a place where the weight of a diagnosis feels a little less heavy. It’s where Survivors and Thrivers are met with dignity, encouragement, and support.

No one should feel alone during cancer. That’s why I’m here.

What Being a Big Wig Means to Me

What Being a Big Wig Means to Me

Being a 2026 Big Wig means stepping up with intention. It means using my voice, my energy, and my community to lift up Survivors and Thrivers and support the incredible programs at The Pink House.

It’s about showing up — wholeheartedly. And if even one person feels less alone because of this campaign, it’s worth it.

This year’s theme is about using our superpowers for good. Mine? Connection. Community. Showing up.

Where You’ll See Me in My Pink Wig

You might catch me rocking my pink wig all over town:

  • Dinking it up on the pickleball courts
  • Dancing the night away with the Charlotte Westies at Levine Senior Center
  • Enjoying a show at the Blumenthal
  • Or just out and about around Charlotte

If you spot me, don’t be shy — come say hi!

A Fun Fact: Since middle school, I’ve grown my hair out and chopped it off to donate to organizations that create wigs for cancer patients. These days it takes about two years instead of one (thanks, aging ?), but it’s something I’ve loved doing and will keep doing. It’s a small way to help someone feel a little more like themselves.
