The WINGS Women of Discovery Awards were established in 2003 to recognize extraordinary women making significant contributions to world knowledge and science through exploration. Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, a marine biologist, policy expert, writer, and teacher working to help create the best possible climate future.

Dr. Divya Karnad, an Indian conservationist promoting sustainable seafood systems and marine biodiversity protection. 

Dr. Nurzhafarina Othman, a Malaysian conservationist safeguarding endangered Bornean elephants through grassroots community action. 

Dr. Grace Young, an ocean engineer developing technologies to sustainably feed humanity while conserving marine life.
