On February 11, 2024, I am walking 2 miles throughout Copley Square with participants, housed and homeless, in support of the Winter Walk. It is my personal goal to raise $1,000 towards the Winter Walk’s mission to raise funds and awareness to end homelessness in greater Boston.
On one cold night in Boston, according to the City of Boston Homeless Census, January 2021, recorded 6,192 homeless individuals in Boston, either alone or part of families. Our homeless community are sons, husbands, mothers, brothers, wives, fathers, and friends.
They could be you. Each of these individuals has a unique story – homelessness is their state of being, not their identity. All of them are our neighbors in need, and we can help them. The Winter Walk is unique in that it provides an opportunity to end the stigma of homelessness. Participants will share a community breakfast post-walk where we will hear real stories from Boston’s homeless population.
Your support is essential to keep providing programs and services our homeless population rely on. 100% of the funds from this year’s Winter Walk will be distributed to their amazing partner organizations. This cause is also near and dear to my heart, and I hope you will consider supporting the Winter Walk!
Sincerely,
Bob Donohue
