I'm participating in the 2022 Winter Walk to come alongside individuals experiencing homelessness in Boston. As I make friends with ladies at the Woods Mullen shelter, I learn that I could be in their shoes if faced with an unexpected event without a support network. They are lawyers, teachers, nurses, administrative assistants, scholars who have experienced a medical emergency, divorce, abuse, and often mental illness. They need friends and advocates. I walk with other Faith Leaders for Housing Justice because we see people experiencing homelessness as valued and loved. We choose to be the voice for the voiceless, those without power to advocate for themselves.
