Every year the Walk for Mental Health Awareness - Houston gathers to build positive public dialogue about mental health issues and to fundraise for local non-profit agencies that provide essential mental health services in the Greater Houston area.
The Montrose Center is proud to be a Walk Agency again this year, and we invite you to join our walk team as we strive to "step out of the shadows and into the limelight" for mental health awareness (lime green is the color for mental health awareness).
The Montrose Center's mission is to empower LGBT Houston, and we need your support! There are many ways to get involved with Montrose Center Team Sole Strivers.
Walk with us. Register to join our walk team as we take mindful and compassionate steps for building a culture of mental health and recovery. The 5K walk is on Saturday, October 8 at Stude Park. Registration is $25. Can't pay? Walk with us anyway.
Can't walk with us? Donate! The Montrose Center will receive 90% of all the funds raised to support the array of mental health services we provide. $5, $20, $ 50 or more - every dollar makes a difference.
Fundraise for our walk team. Our team fundraising goal is $1000. Please get the word out on your social media and share with your friends, family, coworkers, groups.
Mental illness does not belong in the closet - start a positive public dialogue. How has mental illness impacted you or someone you know? What promotes healing and resilience? How can we combat stigma? What resources are available in the community? Where silence ends, education, advocacy, and support can begin.
