World Ovarian Cancer Day
In July of 2014, I was diagnosed with advanced stage ovarian cancer. WHAT? The symptoms and disease were a complete mystery to me, as is true for almost all of us. The next year I joined the board for the Ovarian Cancer Institute started by my doctor, Dr. Benedict Benigno because I wanted, no, I NEEDED to be involved. This organization is specifically focused on funding a lab that is doing ground-breaking research in a few distinct areas. These advances WILL SAVE LIVES. Women will be diagnosed earlier, and treatments can be more targeted for specific genetic make-up and therefore more effective.
Monday, May 8th is World Ovarian Cancer Day so we are kicking off our big annual fundraiser this week leading up to that day. Please consider making a donation - in HER honor, whether me or someone else you know and love, so that we can continue this vital work. Every dollar counts!
