Play It Forward for Women’s Leadership and Honor an Icon
Four years ago, the Women’s Coaching Alliance began with an idea: that coaching youth sports could develop future leaders. Today, through its Coach Today, Lead for Life™ Program, more than 170 young women have built the courage, confidence, and real-world skills to lead—on and off the field—while positively impacting over 1,100 young athletes.
The Play It Forward Benefit offers WCA supporters a special opportunity to place even more young women in coaching roles while helping girls, boys, families, and communities experience the benefits of female leadership in sports.
The evening will feature the presentation of the inaugural WCA Leadership Award to legendary former Stanford Women’s Basketball Coach Tara VanDerveer, honoring her extraordinary impact on generations of women who coach, compete, and lead—and celebrating a shared commitment to creating more opportunities for young women to do the same.
