1.) Can both cats and dogs participate in the Strut Your Mutt Pet Parade? 

Yes! Although, you know your pet best. If going to a large event isn't their thing, whether on a leash or in a pet stroller/carrier, then we recommend virtual participation. 

2.) What's the difference between in-person parade participation and virtual parade participation? 

• In-person: Your pet will be featured in the Pet Parade at Woofstock on April 29th at 12:30pm. In-person participants will have an opportunity to win one of three categories; Best Dressed, Most Creative, and Pawfect Pair (for the best human and pet duo!). 
• Virtual: After you register, virtual participants are encouraged to send in their favorite photo of their pet to events@ral.org! All virtual pet parade participants will be featured in a Virtual Pet Parade Facebook album and the winner will be decided by the people! The photo with the most votes will be our Virtual Pet Parade Winner and will receive special recognition and a trophy. Votes will be calculated by totalling the number of likes/comments/shares on each photo and every dollar raised will equal additonal votes. For example; a pet that receives 20 likes, 10 comments, 5 shares, and raised $50 to their personal fundraising page will end up with a total vote count of 85. 
• Both: Whether you're participating in-person or virtually, fundraising plays an important role and all participants can have a chance to win one of our top fundraising prizes. 

3.) What prizes are there? 

Judges will pick one winner for each category, and winners will receive a trophy and special recognition at Woofstock, on RAL's social media, and in the post event e-newsletter.

• Best Dressed 
• Most Creative 
• Pawfect Pair (for the best pet and human duo!)

Top 3 Individual Fundraisers will win:

1st Place Fundraiser: Trophy, their name on a plaque that will be hung at Richmond Animal League, a RAL swag bag, custom pet 11x14 portrait from Paint for Good (featuring one pet), AND your pet will be the Woofstock Mascot for 2024.

2nd Place Fundraiser: A special trophy, RAL Swag Bag, and a custom pet portrait of your furry friend! 

3rd Place Fundraiser: A trophy and a RAL Swag Bag. 

Top 3 Team Fundraisers will win: 

1st Place Fundraiser: A team trophy, their team name on a plaque that will be hung at Richmond Animal League, and the opportunity to either have a kitten party at your office OR a private kitten party at RAL (up to 10 people if at RAL). 

2nd Place Fundraiser: A team trophy and the opportunity to either have a kitten party at your office OR a private kitten party at RAL (up to 10 people if at RAL).

4.) If I'm one of the top fundraisers, do I have to be at Woofstock to win?

Nope! The awards will take place around 1:15 pm on April 29th during Woofstock. Though we would love to have the winners there to accept their prizes in person, we understand not everyone may be able to make it. So if you win and are not at Woofstock, we'll reach out to you via email after the event on Tuesday, May 2nd.  

5.) When does fundraising cut off? 

Fundraising will cut off at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 29th!
