Walk the Block is an art festival and fundraiser. September 17th, 2pm-6pm.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 before Walk the Block begins, so we can celebrate in the streets together on September 17th,
Your participation in Walk the Block supports Wa Na Wari, a center for Black art and belonging, sited in a 5th-generation, Black-owned home. We have covered the cost of the event with grants & sponsorships, so every dollar spent on Walk the Block goes directly to our programming, which includes homeowner organizing for arts-based solutions to displacement; free-of-cost community meals prepared by Black and Indigenous chefs; the Seattle Black Spatial Histories Institute; our artist-in-residence program; and Black arts and culture programming, free to the public, ever week.
We recommend you register in advance, so you can skip the wait at registration! Just show up,* get your racing bib and map, and hit the streets! Also, food & drink tickets are only available with advance registration. We will not be selling food & drink tickets on the day of the event.
*Registration is on the roof of Medgar Evers Pool this year, NOT at Wa Na Wari
