Walk the Walk 2017

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and considering a donation to NuPath Inc., an amazing local non-profit that supports men and women with developmental disabilities and autism.

In August of 1998, I began my career with NuPath. After more than 18 years of working in a wonderful place with great friends, I still cherish what I do every day. Yes, there are challenging times, but I can’t imagine working somewhere else or doing something else.

Each day, I come to NuPath with the intention of helping others learn and grow while doing my part to make their life’s journey happier, healthier and more fulfilling.

I do this with the intention of supporting others in the same way people supported me. I will never forget the people and teachers that supported me along the way.

As a child, I spent my younger years in a Chapter 766 classroom learning to read. It was a challenging time for me. I specifically recall one teacher, who spent day after day over what seemed like years teaching me to read, working on word recognition, and spending 1:1 time. I remember her enthusiasm, great sense of humor, and dedication. I was way behind my classmates and it took a long time to catch up. Eventually as elementary school was wrapping up and middle school was starting, the hard work she did clicked. Often I look back and smile while remembering the teachers that helped me. I try each day to bring that same dedicated, respectful, and tireless approach to the work I do.
