It was Christmas morning 2010 that I received one of the most heart-breaking calls ever. Chris Emery, the son of my dear friends Julie & Don Emery, committed suicide. The night before we were all together celebrating the holiday season with fun and games. None of us saw any signs leading up to this.
Suicide is an avoidable tragedy that has affected many. Suicide prevention through improving mental health support services and education in our schools and throughout the community is part of what the Amber Craig Memorial Foundation is all about.
