A Note From the Visualizing Palestine Team
Over the past 14 months, we have witnessed the power of visual storytelling for collective liberation. Even with increased military support from countries like the U.S., Israel is unable to erase Palestinian narratives. Despite large-scale campaigns to silence advocates, the global groundswell of support for Palestine cannot be ignored. At protests, in classrooms, newsrooms, and living rooms VP’s visuals are spurring critical conversations against genocide.
Building on over a decade of research-based data storytelling, our work does not happen in isolation but is interconnected with community organizing, political education, and collective action. With our movement partners, we are able to meet this critical moment in Palestinian history. Narrative shifts can happen fastest in times of crisis when movements stand on the shoulders of those who have taken the risks and found the courage to tell their story.
“Telling stories is an act of life… telling stories is resistance... and telling stories shapes our memories.” –Refaat Alareer in Gaza Writes Back
Thank you for helping Visualizing Palestine tell stories that reflect historical and present-day injustices, as well as the collective struggle for liberation.
