When I think about the fact that I've been with GSBA for only 5 months, it boggles my mind. The people I work with are fearlessly authentic, they are changemakers. While we are a Chamber of Commerce, that is only half of what we do. The other half is our Scholarship & Education Fund. A scholarship that if I'm being so honest, I'm jealous I didn't hear about during my educational journey.
The GSBA Scholarship & Education fund is one that brings students not just finacnial independency from their educational fees, but also 1:1 support in whatever they might need to talk about, food/housing assitance, legal assitance, access to the rich history and network of the previous scholar cohorts, and even more wrap around services that are far too lengthy to all write out.
In a perfect world, I would invite all of you to buy tickets to our gala EQUALUX, we would sit at our own table, and we would sip on the luxury and decadance that is EQUALUX, surrounded by changemaking, figureheads of our queer community. BUT, tickets are $350/person, and thats not financially feasible for everyone. SO I made this page. I thought that for those of us who are busy, or cant make the travel to Seattle, or want to give within their own comfortability, this would be just the perfect opportunity.
Here's how you can help:
- Donate: Contribute whatever you can, no amount is too small.
- Spread the Word: Share this oh so fancy fundraising page with your friends, family, coworkers and social networks.
- Help me beat my boss (Shane): I've got a personal goal to out-raise this man... and he doesn't even know it.
Don't forget, you can count this as a tax write-off ?
