The First Tee of Lakeland has brought me many opportunities since I've been in the program. I started out in the program 6 years ago in the certification classes at the player level. Now I have finished the eagle class and I'm volunteering as a junior coach. I've also had the opportunity to help out and even play in The Barkley, Bean, Bryant, and Friends fundraiser tournament. This summer I went to Michigan State University for the Life Skills and Leadership Academy, there I made so many new friends and learned many new concepts to bring back to my chapter. Overall my chapter has given me many opportunities and has taught me key concepts like the 9 core values and STAR.
Donating money can give many youth around Polk County the same learning expirence I have had so far. Being in The First Tee can build character and can create many relationships with the people there. The fundamentals taught can be used all throughout life, not just in golf. Giving the youth the chance to be able to be a part of something this big can change how their future can play out. Thank you for all your support and for taking your time to read this.
