I have had the privilege of being a part of the First Tee for over five years now.  I am so thankful that my parents found this amazing program and allowed me to participate in it.  The First Tee has helped me with my golf skills since day one. 

     The First Tee started teaching me life skills early on.  In my first class, I was taught to shake someone’s hand and look them in the eye when I talked to them.  I was also taught the nine core values.  The nine core values: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment are used in more than golf.

     The First Tee has taught me and set me up to be a successful leader. I was able to go to Michigan State for a week to attend the First Tee Life Skills and Leadership Academy. Now I am a junior coach here at the First Tee and am applying everything I have learned in the classes I help coach.  I have also taken these skills to my school and my church where I also serve in leadership roles.
