Zack Heger Foundation
Mission Statement
The Zack Heger Foundation was founded for and now remains in memory of Zack Heger who struggled and lost his long and brave battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy May 3, 2022 at age 29.
While the ZHF mission was initially founded to fund a cure for DMD and improve the lives of those with MD, we have shifted our purpose to focus on methods of improving accessibility and inclusivity to all people.

Meghan is running for the Zack Heger Foundation. Please read below for why she is running for this cause!
This will be my fourth race running for team Z-Man. When I first met Zack, he made such an impression on me. I remember thinking to myself, how can someone with such a terrible disease have such a bright outlook on life? As I continued to spend time with Zack, he taught me a valuable life lesson: we choose our thoughts, our perspective, and our values. Zack valued spending time with family and friends and chose to have a positive outlook on life; he taught me to cherish meaningful relationships above all else and that life is meant to smile and laugh.
This race for Team Z-Man will focus on raising money to support making parks accessible for anyone with a disability. Zack loved every race we did, and I see no better way to honor his legacy than to continue to support his mission. Thank you for your kind donation!
