Mission Statement
The Zack Heger Foundation was founded for and now remains in memory of Zack Heger who struggled and lost his long and brave battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy May 3, 2022 at age 29.
While the ZHF mission was initially founded to fund a cure for DMD and improve the lives of those with MD, we have shifted our purpose to focus on methods of improving accessibility and inclusivity to all people.

Rachel is running for the Zack Heger Foundation. Please read below to see why she is raising money for such a wonderful cause!
I'm running to raise awareness of muscular diseases and the challenges those affected face daily. In particular, this run is in honor of my mother who fights her battle daily with multiple sclerosis and in the memory of Zack who was an incredible individual whose attitude and fight continue to be an inspiration for anyone who was lucky enough to know him. I'm honored to be able to complete this half marathon for such a great cause with an amazing team.
