Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! Whether it's a friend, a family member, or neighbor down the street, we almost all know someone with Down syndrome. Like us, many of you have been personally touched by the lives of these individuals. We are proud to be part of the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin's 20th Anniversary Statewide Down Syndrome Awareness Walk and 5K Run, Roll & Stroll because it means so much to us and to our family. Hannah never ceases to amaze!
Hannah finished K4 at Deerfield Elementary School. Hannah participated in school programs like Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day and K4 concert. I was so proud of what she accomplished during these programs and school year. She performed as good as (and sometimes better than) all the other kids. She was also invited to her first birthday party and Easter Egg Hunt with friends from school.
Hannah also joined her brothers in christian formation at church and had a good expienece with much acceptance. She LOVED vacation bible school and made a great impression on the teacher.
Hannah has been working hard in school, Speech, Occupational Therapy and in Physical Therapy. In 2016, Hannah will go to her home school in a fully included classroom as a kindergartener. We couldn't be more proud of her! She goes to tutoring weekly at Gigi's Playhouse Milwaukee and even goes for additional therapy to refine her fine motor skills.
Hannah enjoyed dance class at Young Dance Academy in Oak Creek. She just LOVES dancing! Three girls recently joined her class so she has a full class full of friends her age. I cannot wait to see the girls at the dance recital next Spring.
This summer Hannah began to play baseball just like Alex and Matthew. She plays for the Renegades in Oak Creek Little League's Challenger League. She even played a game at Franklin's Little League park! Traveling just like her big brother Alex!
People with Down syndrome are more ALIKE the rest of us than they are different. They have feelings, talents and dreams just like everyone. They deserve to be accepted and appreciated for who they are and what they contribute to our lives and our communities.
