A Message From The Heidtke's:
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! We are so excited for this year's DSAW buddy walk! This will be our 11th year participating! Please feel free to sign up for this year's walk and join our team, Quin's Super Stars! We would love to see you come out for such a fun and great day at the zoo!
About Quin's Year:
Quin had such a fun year dressing up like a mobster for Halloween, visiting his Great-Grandparents in Florida, lighting up the house big time for "Light It Up Blue Day" for Autism Month, super fun time with family for his bowling birthday party, another awesome season with the Germantown Super Stars baseball team (Challenger Division), making a cool music video for school to "What Does The Fox Say", and getting a special birthday gift from his bus driver - he got to ride home on a BIG bus on his birthday! He also got a surprise gift from his bus driver on the last day of school - a real stop sign from a bus! This summer we had a new therapist start with Quin, his buddy Wyatt! Quin is attending summer camp for the first time ever, the first 2 weeks of August with his therapist Wyatt! He is so excited to try everything out at camp! At the end of August, Quin will get a few special days with Bri (his previous therapist that he hasn't seen since last fall) to have some super fun outings with her! He starts school on September 1st and will be in the 5th grade! This will be his last year at Rockfield. He is so excited to see his friends again! Quin always looks forward to the DSAW walk & hopes to see you there!

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! Whether it's a friend, a family member, or neighbor down the street, we almost all know someone with Down syndrome. Like us, many of you have been personally touched by the lives of these individuals. We are proud to be part of the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin's 20th Anniversary Statewide Down Syndrome Awareness Walk and 5K Run, Roll & Stroll because it means so much to us and to our family.
People with Down syndrome are more ALIKE the rest of us than they are different. They have feelings, talents and dreams just like everyone. They deserve to be accepted and appreciated for who they are and what they contribute to our lives and our communities.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. You can make your tax-deductible donation online, or if you would prefer, you can send your contribution to the DSAW Office: 11709 W Cleveland Ave, Suite 2, West Allis, WI 53227 (Just be sure to write our team name on the memo line so that we get credit for the donation!) Whatever you can give will help - it all adds up! To sponsor us simply press Donate Now.
Please also join us on Sunday, September 25th, at the Milwaukee County Zoo as part of our team. It's an incredible day of celebration with family, friends, and people who, like you, want to raise awareness, raise funds, and raise the hope of a better world for all people with Down syndrome. With your support and involvement, our goals of acceptance, inclusion and empowerment will become a reality!

NEW This Year -- Virtual Walker!
This year DSAW is offering the option to register as a “virtual” walker. When you sign up for this option, you commit to run or walk in honor of your loved one with Down syndrome. Your activity can be any distance you want: 3.21 miles or laps around your block, 321 yards or 21 miles. Get creative and have fun! Then, post photos of your walk/run on DSAW’s Facebook Page! Register by August 20th and we’ll try our best to send you your t-shirt by September 25. Whether you’ve moved away from Wisconsin, will be on vacation, or want to support your loved one who lives in Wisconsin, our community extends far beyond our state’s borders.
Many thanks for your support, and PLEASE don't forget to forward this to your entire address book and anyone else who you think might want to donate and register to walk as part of our team.
