September 19, 2013 changed our lives.  We welcomed daughter #3 that afternoon, Miss Peyton Alexandra Larson.  She surprised by arriving 1 week early and surprised us with the diganosis of Down Syndrome.  Jump ahead 5 years (a fast 5 years!) and we are parenting a busy pre-schooler.  MIss Peyton is in 4K, loves to run, jump, climb, sing and dance.  She loves our dog Cody.  Hates mosts all vegetables and pasta.  She loves to play dress up and read books.  She knows how to operate the TV remote and the tablet and our smart phones.  She gives hugs to everyone she meets.  She played t-ball this summer and enjoys bowling.  She is just like any other 5 year old.  Oh, and she has Down Syndrome.

We are proud to be part of the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin's 22nd Annual Statewide Down Syndrome Awareness Walk because it means so much to us and to our family.  DSAW is a big part of our lives and through this great organization we have met many families just like ours.

People with Down syndrome are more ALIKE the rest of us than they are different. They have feelings, talents and dreams just like everyone. They deserve to be accepted and appreciated for who they are and what they contribute to our lives and our communities.
