Under the Cherry Blossoms Hanami Benefit Brunch

In Japan, hanami means “flower viewing,” the spring tradition of gathering beneath blooming cherry trees to celebrate renewal, beauty, and the people we love. This spring, ALSO Youth invites you to bring that same spirit to Sarasota for a brunch that celebrates LGBTQ+ youth and the community that helps them thrive.

Join us on Sunday, February 7, 2027, at 11 AM at Hanami, the stunning Japanese fine dining destination in the Rosemary District. Set inside a restored 1925 landmark, Hanami pairs cherry blossom branches, chandeliers, and velvet seating with a modern, welcoming energy, making it the perfect backdrop for a morning of good food, great company, and meaningful impact.

What awaits you

Your ticket includes an open buffet of Asian fusion favorites and fresh sushi, two complimentary alcoholic drinks, and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. Hanami’s experienced bartenders will be on hand at the bar crafting artisan cocktails for guests who want to explore a little further. Complimentary valet parking is included, and the venue is wheelchair accessible.

Why it matters

Since 1992, ALSO Youth has empowered LGBTQ+ youth and their allies across Sarasota and Manatee counties. Today, young people face growing challenges, and many are searching for a place where they can simply be themselves. ALSO Youth provides that place through safe and affirming youth centers in Sarasota and Bradenton, free mental health counseling with licensed therapists, peer support groups, ALSO, Jr. for youth ages 10 to 12, scholarships, and community advocacy and outreach. Every program is offered at no cost to youth or their families.

Proceeds from Under the Cherry Blossoms support ALSO Youth’s community-building programs, mental health services, and advocacy and outreach, helping ensure every young person in our region knows they belong.

Regular: $69 beginning December 15, until sold out
