Guild Moot - March

Registration has ended

About This Event

The word moot comes from the Old English mōt—meaning “assembly” or “meeting.” Historically, it described a gathering of people united by a common purpose.

Our Guild Moots are just that—a gathering to reconnect, reflect, and help envision the next chapter of growth for the Angelico Catholic Arts Guild. Enjoy food, drink, art, and conversation as we build community, share creative work, and collaborate on new initiatives that will fuel a new Catholic renaissance.

Our March Moot gathers the Guild for food, drink, art, and meaningful conversation in a new location for this month only: the Taft Museum (They will be opening the Rembrandt Exhibition for us!). We are honored to welcome Prof. Amber Knorr, Visiting Instructor of Fine Arts at Franciscan University, whose work explores the human figure and the Catholic imagination.

The evening will also feature live music from Angelico Fellow Sean Connolly. Fellows are welcome to bring spouses or guests interested in the Guild.

Amber Knorr serves as Visiting Instructor of Fine Arts at Franciscan University of Steubenville. After studying Theology and Catechetics, she pursued her Master’s in Sacred Arts in Florence, where her formation was deeply shaped by St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body and the Catholic tradition of sacred art.

More on Amber Knorr:

From 2022–2024 she served as Artist in Residence at Franciscan, teaching painting, drawing, and iconography. Her work centers on the human figure and the Christian vocation, seeking not merely to represent Christ, but to draw the viewer into communion with Him.
