Holman United Methodist Church

Join us for this monthly interfaith workshop rooted in the legacy of Rev. James Lawson—civil rights icon and pioneer of nonviolent resistance. Whether you're standing with striking workers, protecting your immigrant neighbors, protesting unjust policies, or applying nonviolence in everyday life, this session offers perspectives and practical tools for action.

This event is part of a monthly series exploring faith-rooted nonviolent activism and workshopping de-escalation techniques.

Featured Speaker: Hadab Tarifi

What to Expect:

  • Nonviolence in the Islamic Tradition: Peaceful communication, forgiveness, and coexistence are at the heart of Islam. So is nonviolence as a strategy for making change.
  • Hands-on De-escalation and Resistance Training: Learn practical techniques to disrupt injustice, remain grounded, and diffuse tension in high-stress situations.

Admission is free, but please register to attend. Free on-site parking.
