THE HESBURGH LECTURE
Faith & Mental Health: A Way Forward
We are facing a mental health crisis with rising distress and illness‚ especially among youth‚ prompting urgent questions: What's driving this epidemic, and how can we support those affected? This talk will explore how faith and science together illuminate the causes of mental illness and guide us in caring for ourselves and others. This talk invites reflection, understanding, and action for families and communities navigating mental health challenges.
Our distinguished speaker, Beth Hlabse, Program Director of the Fiat Program on Faith and Mental Health at the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame will offer an integrative perspective rooted in Catholic faith, neuroscience, and psychology.
Come to learn, understand and discuss perspectives with one another. This lecture is jointly sponsored by Saint Elizabeth University and the NJ Alumni Club of the University of Notre Dame, and is open to alumni and friends of both universities who seek to understand the important connection between faith and mental health and its greater impact on society.
There will be light refreshments at the conclusion of the lecture. Admission is free. Sign up is required before attending.
