About This Event
Making Animal Masks!
Kids Workshop with Emily McHugh from String & Shadow Puppet Theaters
Saturday July 18, 10-11am
Tinworks Art, Family & Community Space
$20
Scholarships available upon request.
In this hands-on workshop, students will design and create their own animal masks using simple materials like cardstock and tape. Participants will learn how to turn flat paper into three-dimensional shapes—building features like snouts, ears, horns, and beaks to bring their animals to life. Through cutting, folding, and sculpting, students will explore basic techniques for creating form and structure while using their imagination to invent unique creatures. This workshop encourages creativity, problem-solving, and playful experimentation, and each student will leave with a one-of-a-kind mask they can wear and perform with!
This class is recommended for ages of Kindergarten to 5th grades. Registration is required. Scholarships are available upon request.
Space is limited to 20 maximum participants; registration required. Parents are encouraged to observe and help participants, but registration is reserved for students. Registration opens one month prior to workshop, committed participants encouraged. Please dress for changing weather conditions.
