Tradition of Offerings
The annual celebration of Guru Purnima is an immensely rich Vedic tradition to honour the lineages of teachers. This gathering is a time-honoured traditional fellowship where devotees make offerings (such as love donation – Guru Daxina on this special day, flowers, fruits, usable vegan dry foods) from their hearts while the choicest blessings are bestowed by the lineage of spiritual masters.
His Holiness will bless each devotee and family member with special care for children accompanying their parents. Personal letters and requests for initiation are also welcome.

Check-in and Check-out
Check-in: Sunday, 26th July from 2pm-5pm
Check-out: Wednesday, 29th July any time before 11am
If you wish to give good-bye salutations to HH Swami Vidyadhishananda and Sri Swami Asimananda, this may be offered on Wednesday, 29th July from 8:30am – 10:00am at the Grand Salon.
If you would like to stay to greet the monks on Wednesday morning, please plan accordingly with your flight booking. If you need to leave earlier than 8:20am, you are welcome to do so, as this session is optional.
*Please note that check-in will take place at the Anacapa Village Dorms where our group is staying. The first group activity scheduled on check-in day is our supper which is then immediately followed by our Opening Ceremony.
*Arrive no later than 5pm on check-in day to ensure you do not miss dinner and the opening ceremony. Plan for 1 hour to check-in, settle into your room and make the walk to the Grand & Petit Salons where our classes and meals will take place. The walk from the dorms to the Grand & Petit Salons is roughly 10 minutes.
Meals and Lodging
Your retreat includes three nights of accommodation, two meals per day and tea, and breakfast on Guru Purnima morning on 28th July. Vegetarian meals, which are gluten-free and mostly vegan, will be lovingly served according to sattwic principles. Meals will be procured from aligned licensed vendors. The lodging is apartment style.
Anacapa Village Apartments
All guests will stay in the Anacapa Village Apartments. Each apartment has 4 bedrooms (1 person per room), 2 bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen. There are no shared room options. Each room has only one twin bed. See the floorplan below.

See more details about the Anacapa Village and pictures - click here.
Family Lodging
If you are a family with children, we recommend that you look over the floorplan and make a decision how you would like to arrange your stay. Families who wish to be in a private apartment may book accordingly with the number of single rooms required to “block” a whole apartment. For instance, a family of 4 would book 4 singles and have an entire private apartment.
If you absolutely need a room with two beds (traveling with toddlers, for instance), we can likely accommodate this by placing you in the Santa Cruz Village apartments. Each apartment has 2 bedrooms (with two beds per room) and 1 bathroom. There is no kitchen or living room. We can give you a quote for reserving a Santa Cruz Village apartment for your family. Contact us if you are interested in this option, as it is not available on the registration page directly.
Please call us at 909-543-6003 to inquire further so we can support you to ensure you have a meaningful and comfortable family retreat.

Children's Camp
Children aged 3-12 years who are accompanied by an adult are welcome to join the Hansacharanam Children’s Camp. The children’s camp is designed to help parents manifest a family experience within the limitations of the venue, volunteering and other resources.
While the children’s camp allows parents to attend classes and sessions, it is not designed to completely free up parent(s) from their own initiative to look after and interact with their children. The retreat schedule allows flexibility for a combined retreat-vacation supportive of a family experience.
The camp will include activities such as arts and crafts, reading, creative writing, song and kirtanam, yoga and dance, games, and other activities. The Children’s Camp sessions will coincide with certain class sessions for adults on the schedule, but children will eat all meals and snacks with their parents.
A separate Children’s Camp schedule will be available denoting when children will be participating in the class sessions with His Holiness and when they will be engaged in separate Children’s Camp activities. Please email us at events@hansavedas.org for further details or if you have questions related to the Children's Camp.
Teenage Participants (ages 13-17)
Teens who are 13-17 years old are welcome to attend the Hansacharanam Guru Pūrnimā Retreat and should register as adult participants. Teens are welcome in all class sessions with His Holiness, but may also apply to volunteer as Children's Camp teacher's aides. Teens who wish to apply as teachers’ aides may email events@hansavedas.org to learn about the application and approval process for teen volunteers.
Cost & Donations
Every effort has been made to optimize the cost of the retreat for all participants within the restrictions of venue rental (use of facilities and overnight boarding) and catered meal delivery.
Overall this retreat is offered “at cost” to encourage participation, and your love donations for this auspicious Guru Pūrnimā occasion (Guru Daxina) will help cover the organization’s additional and indirect costs.
