The very first Hunger Banquet was held in the Aetna dining room in 1986, based on the simple idea of connecting with donors in the same way we connect with our guests: by breaking bread as a community and by getting to know one another with open hearts, compassion, and love.
Since then, the Hunger Banquet has moved to a new home at the Franciscan Center at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, but it’s still always held on the second to last Wednesday before Thanksgiving. This year, in response to tremendous demand, we are offering breakfast as well as lunch! In that way, we are returning to our roots – offering coffee and doughnuts (and a little bit more!), just as Sister Theresa and Sister Maureen did when they founded the House of Bread in 1980. We have two options for attendees this year - Breakast and Lunch! We are excited and grateful to have you join us again this year!
Breakfast 7:30 am to 9:00 am
Lunch 11:30 am to 1:30 pm
