About This Event
Ever wonder who our wonderful bat neighbors are? Join the WVBG and Friends of Deckers Creek to identify the bats flying overhead, feasting on thousands of insects every night! This program will explore why bats are so misunderstood, why they are so important, why they need our protection, and what makes them worth celebrating! We will go for a night hike with a few active bat detectors and our smart phones to identify bat species flying overhead. Come out July 17, and see the forest and the WVBG in a way few people do. All ages. Dress for the weather and bring a flashlight or headlamp, preferably one with a red lens. Remember we will walk while it’s dark with minimal overhead lights. Sturdy shoes or boots are recommended. $5 for WVBG Members, $15 General Admission. Preregistration is required. Reserve your spot today at wvbg.org.
