King Ropes

For over a decade and across seven full-length albums, King Ropes has been making music soaked in "the Spirit of the West" — not the West of tourism pamphlets and cowboys riding into the sunset, but the West as a misunderstood underdog, gorgeous and unforgiving. Their sound is full of open spaces and jagged edges: guitars scrape and whine, amps rumble, rickety pianos rattle in and out of tune, and like the West itself, nothing is too refined. Call it indie, desert rock, and ragged Americana perching uneasily between all three; call it Ramshackle Psychedelic Americana Noise Pop. Their new album, The Unknown, recorded in a former church in Anacortes, Washington, has the warm, human feel of five people in a room playing together on old analog gear — because that's exactly what it is: Dave Hollier (guitars, vocals), Ben Roth (guitars, keyboards), Norman Robbins (guitars, bass, keyboard), Abbey Blackwell (bass), and Ethan Decker (drums, percussion).

Event Schedule

7pm - Doors open. Drinks can be purchased upstairs from gute Laune and brought downstairs to the theater

7:30-8:15 - Stonefruit

8:45-10:00 - King Ropes

Stonefruit is an indie alternative rock band local to Bozeman, MT. With their debut album “Good News Only” set to release on June 26th and their first tour on the books, Stonefruit is reaching the escape velocity necessary to blast off. Made up of one lifelong Montanan and three lads with southern roots, Stonefruit's sound seamlessly blends noisy tones, sweet bends, and driving drums with Olivia Langan's idiosyncratic lyrics and guitar play. From dreamy alt that has you staring at the floor to crunchy quickness that breaks you from the spell, Stonefruit’s sound has no limits.
